TasmanFM will be a self-funding high quality professionally run community radio station serving the Tasman region.
HISTORY
The radio service was introduced to assist in the development, coordination and delivery of ongoing recovery services following the Port Arthur massacre.
PURPOSE
- To assist and provide access to any group wishing to utilise the facility (in accordance with our obligations under the ABA licensing requirements).
- To promote a cohesive community by the pursuit of common interests.
- To improve the dissemination of information especially in times of crisis.
- To provide an educational tool for the school and the wider community.
- To provide experience and training in the electronic media.
- To foster an increased awareness of local, national and international affairs.
- To afford a voice to special needs groups, eg elderly, print handicapped, ethnic, indigenous.
- To promote community events and programs.
- To promote the general economic activity of the region.
